CrossFit Kids is a total strength and conditioning program for kids and teenagers for their well-rounded development. The program is diverse, making it fun and enjoyable while helping kids to develop a love for a healthy life. CrossFit Kids is brought to you by CrossFit Eroi, a CrossFit affiliate.
Based on the principle of Mechanics, Consistency and then Intensity, CrossFit Kids emphasizes good movement throughout childhood and adolescence. Consistently good mechanics translates to physical literacy, enhanced sports performance and fewer sports injuries for kids. Not only that, a vast body of research indicates that exercise is beneficial to cognitive function, which means consistent adherence to the program can have a positive impact on children’s academic achievement.
The programs are as follows:
CrossFit Preschool (3-6 years old)
Beside basic physical skills, we also teach children social skills that they need to build up their confidence in communicating and interacting with others. They learn the basic movements like the squat, push up, pull up, climbing, jumping, and elementary gymnastic movements that set the foundation to their fitness routine.
Every class includes game play and positive reinforcement, and their confidence will grow both physically and emotionally with each other.
CrossFit Kids (7-12 years old)
The basic physical skills they learn now are more detailed and involve lightweights. Exercises will include plyometric, gymnastic, weight lifting basics, running and stretching.
For this group, we focus on leadership skills and enhancing self-confidence, which is developed through game play and positive reinforcement, as well as discussions on what was being taught in each class. They will also be involved in curriculum setting and will model movements, and lead exercises.
CrossFit Teens (To be launched soon)
Teens will continue to learn the basic physical skills, including strength, cardiovascular conditioning, agility, coordination, and balance. They will also undergo in-depth exploration of the movements in CrossFit.
Weight lifting in this phase will transit from dumbbells to barbells, with the emphasis on using the least amount of weight possible to stimulate a growth response in the body. Proper form will be the priority here. Workouts will be of higher intensity than the younger kids classes and the vocabulary used in the class will be on par with that of an adult CrossFit class. At this program, there will be a strong emphasis on teamwork, communication, and development of leadership skills.
