So much of what we do in CrossFit, or any movement task for that matter, requires good stabilisation of the middle of our bodies (core) so that we can move efficiently with the arms and legs.
For the month of March, we will be focusing on two skills – Press and Push-Up.
The press focuses on creating a stable platform out of the torso and the lower body in order to efficiently push something up overhead. We will be focusing on body position and coordination before moving on to shoulder stabilisation as they learn to move an external load.
We will also be working on Plank and subsequently, the Push-Up. This is a very effective way to develop body awareness for stabilisation of our core.
